A message to Humanity

The Flying Squirrels on Fire Cabal would like to take a moment to send a serious message (or, as serious as it can be when it's delivered by Charlie Chaplin dressed as Der Fuhrer) to anyone paying attention. It's trite and it's old, but it is just a relevant today (especially with the modernized video footage) as it was in 1940.

Genesis 1:1-5

1. In the primogenesis of the judeo-christian timeline, the invisible creator being brought into being the atmosphere and one of many spherical collections of dirt and rocks.
2. And the sperical collection of minerals was somehow simultaneously lacking in shape, and also vacuous although the omnipotent being had previously caused to be formed the atmosphere, and the exterior surface of the spherical object was lacking in lighting.
3. And the invisible creator being said, "I desire light," and then the surface of the soil ball was lacking in darkness.
4. And the alleged creator saw the absence of darkness, and believed that it was objectively a good thing (although this should not be taken as a commentary on the dualistic nature of good and evil, and light and dark are not automatically measurements of goodness or evil-ness), and the creator being caused the absence of dark and the absence of light to stay separate from one another (exactly how this was accomplished remains a mystery, and furthermore, it is unclear why this is necessary as the two concepts are inherently mutually exclusive).
5. And the being doing what is possibly unnecessary and impossible work arbitrarily decided that he would name the two new concepts, although it is certain he did not take patents or copyright documents out on the concepts, and called the absence or lack of light night, and the absence or lack of dark day.

Innovations and enhancements on all of their works enrich the scope and power of the original to inform our global culture and provide a familiar framework for the innovator to work within. For Eris’ sake, even weather data is under strict copyright – the National Weather Service is limited on what weather data it is allowed to provide free on its website, since the private sector owns pieces of the information. I find it especially disappointing that the company that has benefited most from information in the public domain is leading the fight to keep their versions of those public domain works under strict copyright. Creators should certainly profit from their works, but when the creator and their spouse are dead, what right does a corporation have to the intellectual property, especially for such an extended amount of time? Obviously, the answer to this is that they have the right of political influence and graft in the form of campaign contributions. Since we can do nothing about these misguided souls, we have KopyLefted our material. It isn’t Shakespeare, but it’s the best we can do. What do you think of that, Petreley?
